PicX Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-30
1. Information we process
(1) Image files
- The images you select in PicX are used only for on-device compression, format conversion, and save actions that you explicitly initiate.
- Image data is stored locally on your device by default, such as in the app sandbox, the output folder you choose, or your system photo library. It is not uploaded to our servers for image processing.
(2) Device permissions
- Photos / Photo Library: used to read images you select from Photos and, when you explicitly save or enable Auto-save to Photos, to write processed results back to your system photo library.
- If you enable the “Replace original image on save” option on iOS and the source image comes from the system photo library, PicX creates a new compressed copy locally and may attempt to remove the corresponding original photo to save storage space. This behavior applies only to the items you selected in PicX and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
- Files access (macOS / iOS “Files”): used only to read the image files you choose and save processed results to the location you specify.
(3) Basic device information and necessary network requests
- When a free user needs to load ads, determine the ad route, or when the app needs to sync membership / purchase status, the app may make necessary network requests and related services may process basic device information, request logs, approximate region information, ad request / impression / interaction data, diagnostic data, and anti-fraud data.
- These flows do not upload the contents of your selected images to us for ad delivery.
2. Advertising and third-party services
- Free users may see ads in some scenarios, such as a start-task interstitial ad, or may choose to watch a rewarded video ad to receive extra same-day task executions. Subscription and lifetime members do not see these ad flows.
- The iOS version currently integrates Google AdMob and WindSDK (Youlianghui / Sigmob) advertising services. When ads are needed, the app may choose the appropriate service based on storefront region, network region, and ad availability.
- These ad partners may collect or process data required for ad delivery, attribution, frequency control, performance measurement, diagnostics, anti-fraud, and compliance under their own privacy policies, such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate region, and ad impression or click data.
- On supported iOS versions, the app may request App Tracking Transparency permission before loading some ads. You can decide whether to allow this. Denying permission does not affect the core image compression and format conversion features.
- We do not sell the contents of your selected images to advertisers, and we do not upload those image contents to ad platforms for ad targeting.
2.1 macOS platform note
- The macOS version does not currently display ads and does not integrate the Google AdMob or WindSDK (Youlianghui / Sigmob) ad presentation flows used by the iOS version.
- As a result, the macOS version does not currently trigger the ad requests, rewarded ad flows, or ad-tracking permission prompts used in the iOS version.
- If the macOS version later adds ads, online features, or other capabilities that change how privacy-related data is handled, we will update this privacy policy accordingly.
3. Data storage and retention
- Processed images and temporary intermediate files are typically stored locally on your device. You can remove them at any time by deleting the files or uninstalling the app.
- We do not operate an image-processing server that is directly linked to your personal identity. However, Apple StoreKit, advertising SDKs, and necessary network infrastructure may process the minimum data needed for purchase validation, ad delivery, or region routing within their respective services.
4. Children’s privacy
PicX is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children under 13 years of age. If you are a minor, please use this app under the guidance of a parent or guardian.
5. Your choices and control
You can manage your information in the following ways:
- Delete images you no longer need from Photos or output folders;
- Revoke Photos, Files, Tracking, or other permissions in system settings;
- Turn off Auto-save to Photos or Replace original image on save in PicX Settings;
- Choose not to watch rewarded ads, understanding that you will not receive extra same-day task executions;
- Uninstall the app to remove local data stored in the app sandbox.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If there are material changes, we will highlight them in the app update notes or on the web privacy policy page so you can review the latest version.
